I'm in the process of undertaking my 100-hour meditation teacher training certificate and wanted to create a new body of work around the meditation process. These works try to capture how it feels to me. Paintings of inner space. The spheres are thoughts that arise and sometimes the distractions. There are 108 circles representing each of my mala beads. The non-reflective black dot is the void. That moment when there is no thought, but then you become aware. The rainbow, the infinite and united space that is sometimes felt when I chant in Sanskrit or sing with my eyes closed. The small solid dots at the start is the feeling of grounding and the dots at the end have changed into light.
